Husqvarna 435 Chainsaw Review

#1. Technical Features

Power

Husqvarna 435 Chainsaw

Since this chainsaw is a small step up from the Husqvarna 240, which is the most entry-level chainsaw in the Husqvarna line, this model boasts a beefier motor that allows it to handle more heavy duty cutting applications. At the heart of the Husqvarna 435 lies a 40.9 cc motor with a power output of 2.2 HP. As we can see, this is not spectacularly more than the Husqvarna 240, but it is still significant. With the extra power, you should be able to cut materials more easily and cleanly.

Additionally, this model performs a maximum speed of 9000 RPM which almost guarantees to deliver a very smooth cut that looks both clean and professional. To maximize efficiency and power saving, when this unit is not heavily used, it has a comfortable cruise speed (also called idling speed) of only 2900 RPM. That makes it more power efficient than the Husqvarna 240. Moreover, the motor still integrates X-Torq technology which means that this model consumes fuel very efficiently and emits non-toxic fumes that are safer. This is crucial if you work in a small and confined area where toxic fumes can quickly accumulate, and consequently damage your health.

Guide Bar

What makes the Husqvarna 435 an absolute pleasure to work with is the guide bar. In fact, many Husqvarna 435 reviews you will find online rates this feature highly. It is solidly constructed from a heavy-duty metal, so it will not bend or break on you. Additionally, it provides a solid foundation for the chains to move rapidly of up to 9000 RPM. This is a very fast speed, and you absolutely need a solid guide bar to support that kind of speed and power. Thankfully, the guide bar of this model is of excellent construction.

Additionally, the guide bar itself is removable, and you can swap your own custom guide bar in this model. It accepts a maximum of 18-inch guide bar and a minimum of 13-inch depending on your need. As we can see, there is a lot of versatility when it comes to the guide bar with the Husqvarna 435.

#2. User-friendly

Husqvarna is known as a company that makes very user-friendly chainsaws. This model is certainly no different. In the Husqvarna Chainsaw 435, you do not need many yanks to power on the engine. This is due to a combined choke and stop-control that prevents it from flooding the engine, thus creating a stall. This has been a recurring problem with older generations chainsaw, where the user may sometimes need a lot of yanks to start the engine. You will not have this problem with the Husqvarna 435.

Additionally, the handles are large and coated with a soft rubbery material making it very comfortable to hold for long periods. It also has felling marks making it anti-slip. This is very helpful, especially if you are planning to use this chainsaw for long periods in wet conditions.

But what we like the most about the Husqvarna 435 is the low vibrations that it generates. Indeed, it works very well with the high-efficiency motor and delivers a very smooth cutting experience. There is no vibrations on the handle which eventually makes using this chainsaw very comfortable. Additionally, a comfortable chainsaw also results in less fatigue.

#3. Safety

Kickback is a big problem in chainsaws. However, Husqvarna went the extra mile to make sure that this is not an issue in the 435 model. This unit contains an inertia activated chain brake that ensures that the chains with immediately brake when the chainsaw is lifted. Very handy and practical, and helps a lot in preventing an injury. This is particularly the case during kickbacks. Moreover, the hand guard at the front of the unit protects the hands at all times, and it is made from a very solid plastic that will not break easily. It helps keep your hands at a safe distance from the spinning chains.

#4. Other Features

Air Purge: Most users get problems with starting their chainsaw because of air accumulated in the fuel system. It has an integrated air purge system that will allow you to quickly and easily remove air from the carburetor and fuel system in a matter of seconds. All you have to do is push a button.

#5. Price

We have to confess that the Husqvarna 435 is not the most competitively priced chainsaw we have seen. To be blunt, it is a fairly expensive model that we believe is intended only for semi-professionals and the professional market. It is also not that much more powerful than the Husqvarna 240, which costs significantly less than this model for almost the same performance. The only difference is that the guide bar in this model is a little bit bigger for more versatility. At the end of the day, you will need to make up your mind if the price of the Husqvarna 435 fits your budget and need. If he does, go ahead and get this model. If you find it a little bit too expensive, then there are other models like the Husqvarna 240 that equally does the job at significantly less.

#6. Expert reviews

Jim from A-1 Repairs Inc made an excellent video tutorial and review about the Husqvarna 435 a few years back. He goes in detail on the various features of this model, along with giving us clear tips and pointers on how to use this chainsaw. He also shows us how to change the guide bar in this model, as well as how to fit it with a brand-new chain. As we can see in the video, it is very easy to make changes and adjustments to this model. All in all, his Husqvarna 435 review gives us an excellent idea about the ease-of-use and versatility of this power tool. You can check out his video below:

#7. Pros/Cons

Pros

  • Excellent built construction. Durable and long-lasting
  • Guide bar can be changed with a minimum of 13-inch and a maximum of 18-inch for more versatility
  • Large and ergonomic handle with felling marks. Anti-slip
  • Air purge button for removing excess air from the carburetor and fuel system. Allows you to start the chainsaw with only one yank
  • Low vibrations. More comfortable to use and produces less user fatigue over time

Cons

  • More expensive than the Husqvarna 240 with almost a similar performance

Who Should Buy?

This is one of those products that you should buy if you like it and can afford it. It is not the most powerful Husqvarna chainsaw on the market, but it has a little extra versatility since it can accommodate a longer guide bar of 18-inch. If this is enough for you to justify its price, we highly recommend the Husqvarna 435 to land owners, semi-professionals, and professionals because it is an exceptionally user-friendly, heavy-duty, and comfortable chainsaw to use.
