Aside from wood, you can use this circular saw to cut a wide array of materials. It is equally efficient in cutting sheets of plastic, and even ceramic tiles/roof slates when retrofitted with an appropriate blade. You can easily use the DWE575 for flooring or roofing tasks as well. The motor has ample power for any of those tasks and the 5,200 RPM blade speed is excellent when cutting ceramics or slabs with a smooth finish.

Cutting Capacity:

The 7-1/4-inch carbide tipped blade has a depth of cut of 2.55 inches at 90 degrees and 1.9 inches at 45 degrees. This is versatile when cutting any type of commercially available material - including MDF boards, wood planks, and plywood. (Note that you cannot replace the blade with a size larger than 7.25 inches in this unit as the blade guard will prevent it).

DeWalt uses a latch instead of a knob for the bevel adjustment. It is much easier and quicker to operate. Just pull the latch, adjust to your desired angle and secure the latch and it will lock the angle in place. Very easy!

Dust Extraction:

DeWalt also includes a blade wrench to remove and replace this blade. Alternatively, you can use any 7-1/4 inches circular saw blade with this model. It does not use a tool-less mechanism so you will need to manually remove the blade by unbolting the blade clamp.

Other Features:

• Power switch: The On/Off switch is located under the handle and offers excellent user-friendliness when powering it on or switching it off.
• Key storage: There is a storage at the back to store the blade wrench away from sight.
• Soft handles: There is no elastomer coating and despite this, the handles are very ergonomic and feel good in the hand. This will drastically help diminish hand fatigue.
• Blade guard: The blade guard protects the user from the spinning blade at all times.
• Anti-snag: The anti-snap guard has ball bearings that provide a cutting guide as well as help prolong the lifespan of the saw at the same time.

Accessories:

Out of the box, DeWalt includes a 7-1/4 inches carbide-tipped blade, a blade wrench, and a detailed user manual. The absolute basics. You do not get additional accessories or spare parts. In its price range, it offers the performance and versatility that is almost on par with more expensive models like the Makita 5007MG. Considering how well this unit performs, we think the price is very reasonable and a good buy. Despite there are cheaper alternatives like the iconic Makita 5007F, in our opinion, the DWE575 still offers a better-rounded package that is more value for money and more versatile in day-to-day usage.

The review mainly focuses on the limelight attractions of this power tool like the power, ease of use and versatility. Robert likes the lightweight of this tool and concludes by calling this power tool “light and tough”.

The editor of ToolBoxBuzz.com, Todd Fratzel reviewed the DeWalt DWE575 and rated it a 4/5 stars. His review is short but compelling.

Todd tested the unit hands-on in his workshop. He even includes pictures of it. He first goes through the specifications, shows us how well it performs and then gives us his general impressions. He has no problem recommending this product and only take issue that it does not have an electronic brake and come with a carry case. It is something we find strange too.

Prior to this model, he has been using the DEWALT DW364 but after the review, he quickly saw that this model is 25% lighter and packs the same punch. The new model also has a deeper depth of cut and more versatile when working with angles.

• Wrench storage: The back has a discreet wrench storage compartment.
• Anti-snag: The anti-snag has ball bearings and moves slowly out of the way when cutting. It snaps right back when lifted from the material.

Cons:

• No variable speed control
• No electric brake

5. Who Should Buy?

We have absolutely no problem recommending this model to anyone looking for a powerful, fast and versatile circular saw - newbies and professionals alike. Whether you require a circular saw for wood, ceramics or roofing slab cutting, it will gladly deliver. Additionally, it has a faster speed than other popular circular saws like the Makita 5477NB, and cheaper than the Makita 5007MG with almost similar specs. Sure, the lack of an electric brake and a variable speed is a terrible downer. If you require this feature, the DeWalt DWE575SB is a better option. However, if you do not need those features then it is an excellent circular saw to get at a very competitive price.
